Role Description

The 2020 Environment Bill is expected to require the establishment of a national Nature Recovery Network (NRN) and Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS).

The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire are seeking a Nature Recovery Networks Coordinator to engage with Local Nature Recovery Strategies. They will work with conservation staff in County teams to implement Local Nature Recovery Strategies, efficiently reflecting local circumstances, and co-ordinating with surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will work with local authorities over emerging approaches to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), seeking to ensure that systems will enhance ecosystem functionality. They will be expected to identify key opportunities for the Wildlife Trust to engage directly with BNG delivery.

We are looking for an individual with a proven ability to work in partnership with local authorities and development-related stakeholders. They will also demonstrate a good knowledge of the technical aspects of the role; including biodiversity net gain, priority habitats/species, natural capital and managing complex projects.
