Event Description

Join Dr Gwen Hitchcock to learn about this elusive and iconic species – a much loved member of British wildlife. We’ll cover their general ecology, their conservation status in Britain, and what is being done locally to monitor them and aid their survival our area.

Gwen is a Senior Monitoring and Research Officer with the Wildlife Trust BCN. She is responsible for coordinating dormouse surveys with the help of Wildlife Trust volunteers. As a generalist ecologist she also coordinates and runs bat surveys, butterfly surveys and plant surveys across the three counties.

This event is organised by the Cambridge Local Group of the Wildlife Trust, and tickets can be purchased from the local Wildlife Trust website: https://www.wildlifebcn.org/events/2022-02-28-online-talk-discovering-dormice-gwen-hitchcock. Tickets cost £3.09 for Wildlife Trust members, and £4.68 for non-members, of which £2.50 and £4.00 (respectively) goes directly to supporting the local Wildlife Trust’s work.
