Saturday 27th November at Wandlebury Country Park, 10am – 3pm
Sunday 5th December on Christ’s Pieces (Cambridge), 10am – 3pm
Forest of Imagination is a celebration of creativity and the environment, brought to you at a time when there is mounting evidence that being creative and spending time outdoors is good for our mental health. It is produced by arts and well-being charity Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination who work to inspire children and their communities, inviting them to find their own voices by playfully exploring local spaces. Forest contains 50 beautiful gauze hangings creative from work made by nearly 400 children and young people from across our region. CCI artists will be inviting visitors to contribute to a unique artwork they will be creating collaboratively on both days. Visitors can also link to a specially created soundscape about the forest to enjoy as they wander amongst the work and read a new poem commissioned to mark these events from Cambridge Poet Kaddy Benyon. The Suspended Forest is a ‘found’ poem using words and phrases taken from tree stories gathered as part of the Forest project in 2020.
These two large-scale immersive events or ‘forests’, bookend National Tree Week (27 November – 5 December 2021) and reaffirm the principles of the Tree Charter, signed by the City Council in November 2020.

Forest is a partnership with the council’s Cambridge Canopy Project and the conservation organisation Cambridge Past, Present and Future.
A total joy. The most memorable public art installation for me of the last decade.
