Role Description

An associate lecturer position is available to cover teaching of the masters module “Current Topics in Wildlife Conservation” for sabbatical cover. The associate lecturer would be responsible for delivery of existing lecture and teaching materials, supporting and marking student-led discussion facilitation sessions, marking student essays and maintaining the online module site. The associate lecturer would also be expected to be available to respond to student queries for two hours each week. The pay rate is £43.79 per contact hour and for each contact hour an additional 1.5 hours work should be expected (marking, administration, office hours and preparation). There are approximately 36 contact hours for this post (to be confirmed).

For the correct candidate, this job could be combined with the part-time associate lecturer position (teaching cover) Population ecology and wildlife management.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable explaining social and ecological concepts and explain key pieces of conservation research to masters students and teaching skills such as discussion facilitation. The associate lecturer would be welcome to introduce material from their own research or practice. The lecturer would have access to recorded materials from the module leader to guide their teaching.

Some teaching is likely to be face to face in Cambridge, while other teaching may be online, this may be updated in line with COVID policies.
