Role Description

The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is proud to be the leading UK charity devoted solely to the conservation of bats and their habitats.

BCT participates in innovative research, and coordinates the National Bat Monitoring Programme, a world-leading citizen science programme which produces population trends for British bat species.  BTC is currently expanding this programme to include new monitoring and analysis approaches, particularly in the field of passive acoustic monitoring and genetic surveillance.

The key purpose of this role is to lead on the delivery of  their science and monitoring strategies. This will include developing and implementing innovative research and monitoring projects, as well as leading the science and monitoring team. The role will act as a source of technical advice on survey and monitoring techniques across BCT and at key external meetings.

You will have experience in project design, project management, statistical analysis using R and producing scientific publications.

You will have knowledge of bat ecology and behaviour, as well as knowledge of bat survey techniques.

You will have experience of leading a team and you will hold a PhD in a relevant discipline.
