Shoal – a new initiative to conserve threatened freshwater species in their habitats

1st April 2020

Shoal is a new initiative to conserve fish and other threatened freshwater species in their habitats. It brings together conservation organisations, scientists, zoos and aquaria, anglers and aquarists and their associated industries to catalyse conservation action for this overlooked but vital and much loved group of species. Shoal is hosted in the UK by Synchronicity Earth and is also establishing hubs in the US, Germany and Singapore.

Shoal has just launched a new global online platform for freshwater species conservation. It represents an entirely new way to get involved in nature conservation. Signing up is free and allows you to learn more about freshwater species and actively participate in their conservation. The bigger the Shoal grows, the more we can do together to conserve freshwater species and their spectacular environments. To find out more about the initiative, visit www.shoalconservation.org
