Membership is open to any not-for-profit organisation, and institutions, including governmental bodies, and universities involved in conservation policy, practice and research. In addition organisations that have a statutory requirement to protect the environment as part of their raison d'etre may be Members.

Individuals with an active interest in conservation research, policy or advice but who are not in a member organisation may become "Friends" of the Forum.
