The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy is a leading conservation organisation working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. The Conservancy and its more than one million members have protected more than 480,000 km² of land, over 8000 km of rivers and have worked on over 100 marine projects. Our work is science driven and highly collaborative – we work with partners on the ground and also seek to leverage our work to influence conservation actions around the world. Although there is a Worldwide Office in Washington DC, we are highly decentralised, with staff working on the ground in 30 countries through the Americas, Pacific, Asia and now East Africa. In Europe a small number of staff are now active in global scientific work, and in policy and international collaboration.
