Camcattle is a local beef producing enterprise that grazes the meadows along the river Cam belonging to the city council and let under common rights, Kings College and the Wildlife Trust. We also graze several nature reserves and SSSIs at different times of the year. The cattle are Red Polls, the original East Anglian breed, now protected by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. They are entirely grass fed and we support the ‘Pasture for Life’ farming methods. The animals are butchered locally and sold at Farmer’s Markets in and around Cambridge.
